Rules of the All India Chess Federation and FIDE shall apply to the Inter-School Chess Championship unless otherwise modified in these rules.

The Team Championship will be held in four categories, as detailed below:

Each category shall have four players to be eligible for the team championship.

The championship will be played according to the Swiss System (Five Rounds). A team shall not play against any other team more than once.

The duration of each match will be 15 + 5 for each player.

The final position of teams shall be determined by the number of points scored by each team.

The position of teams that finish with the same number of game points shall be determined by the application of the following tie-breaking procedures, in sequence from (a) to (b) to (c) to (d) to the extent required:
- By the sum of the game scores of all the team's opponents.
- By the sum of the match points won.
- By the sum of the games of all opponents defeated, plus one half of the game scores of all opponents within which the tied result was achieved.
- By the sum of the game scores of all the team's opponents, excluding the opponents who scored the highest and the lowest number of game points.

Reporting time for all participants is 8:30 AM sharp on day one to ensure smooth verification and timely pairing procedures.

Each team should be accompanied by a Physical Education Teacher along with another teacher, who will be responsible for the conduct of the team.

During the championship, all players must wear their respective school uniform and ID card; otherwise they will not be allowed to participate.

The Arbiter's decision in all cases shall be final and binding on all teams. No protest shall be entertained against this decision.
